A few months ago, we moved to a village located in the mountains. Fleeing a bit from the rush and the crazy life we lived in the city. Although well… my life is still a bit stressful… only now I have much easier to disconnect and go out in nature.

The village we chose is a dream environment for anyone who loves the mountains, hiking or trail running.

Trail running: a new sport for me

Although at some point I had tried my hand at popular asphalt races, I had never tried trail running.

It always seemed to me very hard and difficult to train (having to travel to find slopes).

I had also been playing and training for only one sport for a long time, PADEL, complemented by strength sessions or series to improve my physical condition on the track, but that’s all trail running was limited to for me.

But hey, I LOVE sports, I like running, I like the mountains and if it’s as easy as going out the door and training… I just jump right in!

How did I start?

Then I started walking, then walking and jogging and now I need to walk less and run more than before to regulate my heart rate.

I FEEL WEIRD, CLUMSY, SLOW. And sometimes I feel like my heart is going to burst out of my chest when I’m almost walking!

When a week goes by that I can’t go out to train, I feel like I’m taking steps backwards like a crab and it’s almost like starting all over again…

I guess this hasn’t happened to me for a long time. And when you are new to something, you have a lot of doubts and make a lot of mistakes. But I don’t get scared easily and doing TRAIL RUNNING makes me feel good.

This year I did my first mountain race and another one is coming soon. I’m looking forward to put on my shoes and give it all, improving the sensations of the first one I ran.
